LWT Weeklong Sled Dog Tours

This Wilderness experience is designed for those adventurers who wish to explore the many forests, rivers, lakes and the tundra areas of Swedish Lapland. It is a winter wonderland unequalled in any other European region.

Besides the natural beauty and serenity our tour area contains an abundance of bird and animal life. During our tour season the northern lights are clearly viewable on most cloudless nights.

Outline Itinerary:

Day1. Arrival at Kiruna airport. Guide welcomes you to Lapland and a short transfer to our homebase at Mushers Lodge in Kauppinen, a small village between Kiruna and Jukkasjärvi. Here we have lunch and then you will get equipped with winter gear and your guide will instructed you in how to drive a snowmobile. Take off, for a tour to our wilderness lodge where we will spend our night after that we have had a nice sauna and a cosy dinner prepared from local specialities.

Day 2. After breakfast we are ready for a full day on our snowmobiles. Lunch will be served over an open fire along the trail, after that we are done with our coffee we continue our tour and if all goes well we may cover around 100km today before we are back at the Wilderness Lodge. Before we have dinner we can check the nets we have under the ice of the lake Väkkäräjärvi. And our sauna is hot again... overnight at the lodge.

Day 3. After breakfast we start this last day of snowmobiling. We reach our homebase at Mushers Lodge in time to grab a cup of coffee and a cake before transfer to Kiruna airport
